Cinnamon Sugar Biscuit Donuts
🛒 Ingredients
- 1 can Refrigerated flaky biscuits (the jumbo ones work best!) 🥯
- 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp Ground cinnamon
- Cooking oil for frying (Vegetable or Canola) 🌡️
- Optional: 1/4 cup Melted butter (for extra richness) 🧈
👩🍳 Instructions
- Prep the Coating: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside. 🥣
- Make the Holes: Pop open the biscuit can and separate the rounds. Use a small round cutter (or even a clean soda bottle cap!) to cut a hole out of the center of each biscuit. Don’t throw away the “holes”—those are your donut holes! 🍩
- Heat the Oil: Fill a large skillet or pot with about 2 inches of oil. Heat over medium heat until it reaches roughly 350°F.
- Fry Time: Carefully drop 2–3 donuts into the hot oil. Fry for about 1–2 minutes per side until they are puffed and a beautiful golden brown. Repeat with the donut holes (they cook faster!). ⏲️🔥
- Drain: Use a slotted spoon to remove the donuts and place them on a paper-towel-lined plate for just a few seconds to drain excess oil.
- Toss & Coat: While still hot, toss the donuts and holes into the cinnamon-sugar mixture until they are completely coated.
- Serve: Enjoy them immediately while they are warm and melty! ☕✨
🔥 Pro Tips:
- Don’t Overcrowd: Fry only a few at a time so the oil temperature doesn’t drop, ensuring they stay crispy instead of greasy! 🚫🍟
- Variety: Not a fan of cinnamon sugar? You can also dip these in a simple vanilla glaze or even chocolate ganache! 🍫🍩
