Air Fryer Crispy Fish and Chips

🛒 What You’ll Need

  • For the Fish:
    • 1 lb Cod or Tilapia fillets (patted dry) 🐟
    • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs (for maximum crunch!) 🍞
    • ½ cup All-purpose flour 🌾
    • 2 Large eggs, beaten 🥚
    • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning & ½ tsp Garlic powder ✨
    • Salt & Black pepper to taste 🧂
    • Olive oil spray 🫒
  • For the Chips:
    • 2 Large Russet potatoes, cut into sticks 🥔
    • 1 tbsp Olive oil 🫒
    • Salt & Paprika 🧂🌶️

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prep the Potatoes: Soak your potato sticks in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch (this makes them extra crispy!). 🥔💧 Drain and pat them completely dry.
  2. Air Fry the Chips: Toss the potatoes with olive oil, salt, and paprika. Place them in the air fryer basket at 380°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through until golden. Remove and keep warm. 🍟🔥🎯
  3. Bread the Fish: Set up three bowls: one with flour (seasoned with salt/pepper), one with beaten eggs, and one with Panko (mixed with Old Bay and garlic powder). 🥣🥣🥣
  4. Dredge: Dip each fish fillet into the flour, then the egg, and finally press firmly into the Panko until fully coated. 🐟🍞💪
  5. Air Fry the Fish: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil. Place the fish inside (don’t overcrowd!) and spray the tops of the fish generously. 🌬️🫒
  6. Cook: Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through and spraying again, until the crust is deep golden brown and the fish flakes easily. ⏲️🥨🤤
  7. Serve: Plate up your crispy fish and chips with a side of tartar sauce, a squeeze of fresh lemon, and a sprinkle of parsley! 🍽️🍋🌿

🔥 Pro Tips:

  • The “Dry” Secret: The drier the fish and potatoes are before you start, the crispier they will get in the air fryer! Use plenty of paper towels. 🧻💎
  • Don’t Skip the Spray: Using a high-quality oil spray on the Panko is what gives the fish that beautiful “fried” golden color. 🫒✨🎯
